As I write this the events in Japan are unfolding in front of our eyes and it would be a very strong constitution that would not be impacted by the veracity, sheer power and potential damage that this earthquake and tsunami have inflicted.
In an already tenuous world economy this represents yet another blow to the strength of the world recovery which will most likely make this again a longer and slower process.
Added to the top of this is the recent announcement by the Federal Government of the proposed introduction of a Carbon Tax potentially with effect from next year. This is a critical issue for small business and will be the focus of my lead article in the current issue of “On the beam” our Firm newsletter.
In the interim may we do what we can to support those tragically effected by the events in Japan that I’m sure will be felt world wide.
On a lighter note may I wish our Marketing Coordinator, Hayley many Happy Returns for today, Happy Birthday Hayley!
